The benefits of canned wine

We love canned wine, that’s a given. But why? Let us fill you in.

First things first.

Red wine crushing

There’s nothing worse than arriving to a party, pleased as punch with your choice of wine, to realise not a single soul thought to bring or buy a corkscrew.

Or, really wanting just one glass of your favourite crisp chenin to then nurse an accidental hangover the day after because you didn’t want it to ‘go off’.

Canned wine cuts all these stresses out.

The compact can.

Compact, portable and measuring at an easily drinkable (and justifiable) 175 or 250ml, they are the perfect accessory for any occasion. A BYOB brunch? Sure. Post work bevvies in the park? 100%. A train journey tipple? Absolutely. And don’t worry about a glass.

Although nothing beats a long stem goblet, you don’t need one. Canned wine, believe it or not, was made to be drunk from the can.

Of course, if you like to stick your nose into the glass to get a whiff of every note, and even write a couple down, we fully support that sort of oenophile behaviour. And with our Brixton Wine Club cool bags, you’ll be able to keep them fresh and cool all day and night long.

Insta-can.

Be warned: these are cans you won’t just want to decant and chuck into the recycling. Wrapped in stylish prints and colours, you’ll feel almost compelled to save them for an Instagram shot.

While the easy social cocktail co.’s diddy cans, which easily fit in the palm of your hand, will have you searching for the perfect backdrop for a series of Insta stories, Ramona’s hot pink ruby grapefruit wine spritz adds the final touch to your delightfully millennial pink brunch outfit.

We know it’s not about appearances – it’s about the crisp spritz inside of course – but a stylish canned wine really can go a long way.

Sustainable.

Canned Wine Sustainabilty Aluminium

And what’s better than looking good and feeling good? Apart from tasting delicious, canned wines are actually better for the environment. The most recycled material on the planet, aluminium, isn’t just the lighter alternative to glass. With an 80% lighter carbon footprint, it takes up less space than bottles which is key when shipping wine around the world. It is also the only closed-loop packaging process around.

And if you needed another reason to convert you to the canned way of life, they are quicker and easier to chill, which fits because, at Brixton Wine Club, we’re all about keeping things cool.
